Within the center of the charcoal-hued parquet floor is an openwork detail of crossbeams providing visual access to the main foyer below. Pewter sconces along all four walls hold thick candles of stale-colored wax. You see a glazed mauve door to the west, a polished magenta door to the northwest, an enameled taupe door and a varnished plum door to the northeast, and a lacquered smoke-hued door to the east. A traceried stairway to the north and a polished murrey stairway to the south provide access on and off the floor. Obvious exits: none. |
20. Symbiotic (Secretary's) Suite: | Room Type: Private, open to House Officers and Guests only, internal
room
1 entrance/exit: Secretary's Suite Door 1 - entry to/from Second Floor Hallway located southeast from within Secretary's Suite itself (usage within Room Desc - glazed mauve door). Room Desc: Though the worn mauve plush fabrics are yet shabbily resplendent, what lends this room its distinctive character is the undeniable feeling that every bit of furnishing is lower and wider than usual. The down-stuffed couch is squat. A pewter-framed trundle bed - with no master bed under which to hide - accentuates this close-to-the-floor atmosphere. Even the pewter desk is low and displays broad-based inkstands and very short, if very sharp, quill pens. Featured on the west wall is a portrait of a bearded rolton, an odd showpiece indeed. And the lintel of the glazed mauve door is a head-bumping hazard. Obvious exits: none. Exam Desc: Rolton Portrait: The bearded subject of this portrait, though undeniably homely, does seem to grow on one upon closer examination, appearing somewhat cuter than first thought. However, that subject remains definitely not a creature one would like to wake up in bed beside. Couch: This well-used piece of furniture has its overly wide expanse covered in a somewhat threadbare linen velour of a rich mauve tone. Its legs are noticeably short, placing the entire sofa not more than an inch or two off the floor, a position the faintly sagging springs only decrease when seated. Pewter Desk: This desk stands at an uncomfortable height for the average writer, causing one to huddle down to reach its surface even when seated in its companion very short chair. And the knobs and pulls on all the drawers are rather broader than most hands would find convenient to use. Touchable Objects: Couch, down-filled linen velour, squat, mauve; Bed, trundle, pewter-framed; Portrait, bearded rolton. (SPECIAL NOTE: Door should be latchable from inside. Entry should be scripted to require any except those of the dwarf or halfling races to need to duck through the door, banging their heads if they fail to do so.) |
21. Convergence Chamber | Room Type: Private, open to Members and Guests only, internal room
1 entrance/exit: Convergence Chamber Door 2 - entry to/from Second Floor Hallway located southwest from within Convergence Chamber itself (usage within Room Desc -polished magenta door). Room Desc: A sense of bright cosmic energy fills this room. Everything seems vibrant, glowing with fresh light. A raised firebox is set about chest-level in the back wall. The walls are covered with gorgeously executed tapestries in bright and light shades of purple and gray. The platform bed sits on a dais raised by two steps above normal floor level. Several very high chairs covered in magenta-hued silk complete the picture of ascent. Southwest in the room lies a polished magenta door. Obvious exits: none. Exam Desc: Tapestries: The elaborate hangings spanning practically every square inch of wall space in this chamber, depict the Gods and Goddesses of the Liabo. From the high deity Koar to the minor divinity Voln, each immortal is shown in a pose and scene befitting his/her personality and area of control. Touchable Objects: Firebox, chest-level; Bed, platform, dais-raised; Chair, high, magenta silk. (SPECIAL NOTE: Door should be latchable from inside. Firebox should be scripted to burn wood.) |
22. Synchronous (Treasurer's) Suite: | Room Type: Private, open to House Officers and Guests only, internal
room
1 entrance/exit: Treasurer's Suite Door 4 - entry to/from Second Floor Hallway located southeast from within Treasurer's Suite itself (usage within Room Desc - enameled taupe door). Room Desc: An air of sensible comfort marks this suite. The furniture is all constructed of ash wood, including the large four-poster bed. An armchair, covered in charcoal-hued linen fabric, is fronted by a matching hassock. On a small table near at hand to the armchair sits an elaborate abacus bearing wood counting beads in several different shades of purple. A rug formed from the skin of some huge grey bear is set before a round open hearth of granite stone, while enameled panels of varying shades of taupe comprise the walls. An enameled taupe door provides the only access to the suite. Obvious exits: none. Exam Desc: Bear Rug: This hide of a grey bear shows a size which makes one shudder at the very thought of the beast who once inhabited that skin. Its softness, however, provides a sensual appeal which cannot be denied. Hearth: The round construction of this open hearth of granite stone makes it very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And the pleasant warmth, which the fire in its heart provides, comforts and soothes the very soul as well as the weary body. Abacus: This symmetrically perfect counting instrument is carved of some type of animal bone. Its five tiers of wooden beads use several shades of purple to denote denominations of silvers in varying steps. Touchable Objects: Bed, ash wood, four-poster; Hassock, linen, charcoal-hued; Abacus, wood. (SPECIAL NOTE: Door should be latchable from inside. Abacus should be scripted to push/count beads.) |
23. Confluence Chamber | Room Type: Private, open to Members and Guests only, internal room
1 entrance/exit: Confluence Chamber Door 5- entry to/from Second Floor Hallway located southeast from within Confluence Chamber itself (usage within Room Desc -varnished plum door). Room Desc: A sense of dark cosmic energy fills this room. Everything seems veiled, hidden in old shadows. A lowered firebox is set in the floor along the back wall. The walls are covered with gorgeously executed tapestries in deep and dark shades of purple and gray. The trenched bed sits in a pit lowered by two steps below normal floor level. Several very low hassocks covered in plum-hued velvet complete the picture of descent. Southeast in the room lies a varnished plum door. Obvious exits: none. Exam Desc: Tapestries: The elaborate hangings spanning practically every square inch of wall space in this chamber, depict the Gods and Goddesses of the Lornon. From the high deity Eorgina to the minor divinity Onar, each immortal is shown in a pose and scene befitting his/her personality and area of control. Touchable Objects: Firebox, floor-level; Bed, trenched, pit-lowered; Hassock, low, plum velvet. (SPECIAL NOTE: Door should be latchable from inside. Firebox should be scripted to burn wood.) |
24. Synergic (Co-Secretary's) Suite: | Room Type: Private, open to House Officers and Guests only, internal
room
1 entrance/exit: Co-Secretary's Suite Door 6 - entry to/from Second Floor Hallway located southwest from within Co-Secretary's Suite itself (usage within Room Desc - lacquered smoke-hued door). Room Desc: The room, under its faint haze and odor of cigar smoke, glows with the transcendence of a magical gentleman's room. A silver-inlaid fireplace catches odd glints within the metal from flames bouncing light onto two wall pictures, one of Lumnis overlooking a town carved in ice and one of a sorcerer grinning slyly during battle with an arch fiend. The surface of a waist-high, hyacinth-tinted ora socle is spread with wands, scrolls and a few cigars. And a laje-framed grey leather bed - round in shape - is tossed with faded silk pillows. Even the lacquered smoke-hued door radiates a supernatural incandescence. Obvious exits: none. Exam Desc: Silver Inlaid Fireplace: The inlay work of the fireplace is very uniquely contrived, revealing upon close inspection that the designs are far from simply decorative, but are in reality magical runes. While the flames within the firebed glow with mystical brightness. Socle: This almost altar-like platform serves as the resting place of frequently used item. Its hyacinth-tinted ora composition transmits an aura of mysticism into the commonplace objects littering its surface, making those objects themselves rather magical. Round Leather Bed: Fitting the size of a "built" elf, this complely circular bed boasts a laje framework intricately carved with more magical runes, and a leather mattress superbly supple in texture and seemingly emitting some sort of unearthly gravitational force. Touchable Objects: Fireplace, silver-inlaid; Socle, ora, waist-high, hyacinth-tinted; Bed, laje and leather, grey. (SPECIAL NOTE: Door should be latchable from inside. Fireplace should be scripted to burn wood.) |
