Iscikella stands up.

Iscikella recites:

"I am pleased to act as Narrator to THE TALE OF THE KEY, which will be enacted for yer pleasure this eve as follows:
The Light Sister: Noonee
The Dark Sister: Chutnee
The Goddess Eorgina: Chutnee
The Goddess Lumnis: Noonee"

Iscikella smiles.

Iscikella recites:

"Let me tell ye how this all began...

In days of old a certain key was placed within a secret hiding place by Tonis, of the Gods. What it unlocked exactly, supposedly none knew. Yet many of the gods and goddesses themselves sought its location. Until one day, it was found under most unusual circumstances..."

(Iscikella gestures and a curtain rises showing a stage set as the old ruins of IceMule.)

Iscikella recites:

"...by one of two sisters, whose name history does not record and who we shall know simply as The Light Sister."

Noonee stands up.

(Noonee walks into the ruins from the right.)

You see Noonee No'one the Human Cleric. ...etc... She is wearing a pale pink blouse, a pale pink skirt and antique lace slippers.

Chutnee stands up.

(Chutnee "appears" in the ruins.)

Iscikella points at Chutnee.

Iscikella recites:

"The Goddess Eorgina"

You see Chutnee BornOdepression the Sylvankind Bard. ...etc... She is wearing a crimson velvet gown, crimson velvet slippers and a silver crown.

Chutnee glances at Noonee.

Chutnee says, "Ye are not who I would choose for this task, girl, but my time is short so ye must do."

Noonee blinks.

Noonee kneels.

Noonee exclaims, "High Lady of the Lornon!"

Chutnee taps her foot impatiently.

Chutnee exclaims, "I have no time for such foolishness! Idolize me at some other time. Now I have need of ye for more common work."

Noonee stands up.

Noonee asks, "What work is that, Lady of Darkness? Ye know I am not of yer faith, I must assume."

Noonee blushes a nice shade of off-pink.

(Chutnee makes a motion of dismissal with her hands.)

Chutnee exclaims, "Enough! Such niceties matter not at this moment. Look about ye girl, quickly. For it has been revealed onto me that this item I seek can be found only by such as ye, one of simplicity."

Chutnee smirks.

Chutnee scoffs.

Noonee searches.

Noonee says, "What am I looking for, My Lady?"

Noonee peers quizzically at Chutnee.

Chutnee sighs in exasperation.

Chutnee exclaims, "Find it and ye will know!"

(Chutnee "disappears" from the ruins.)

Chutnee sits down.

Noonee searches.

Noonee picks up a small key.

Noonee asks, "A key? A key to what?"

Noonee tilts the small key from side to side letting the light play off of it.

Noonee blinks.

Noonee asks, "My Lady of Darkness?"

Noonee sighs in frustration.

Noonee puts the small key inside her pale pink skirt.

(Noonee leaves the ruins from the left.)

Noonee sits down.

Iscikella recites:

"And she took the key home and spoke of all that had happened to her sister, whose name history does not record either, and who we shall simply refer to, therefore, as The Dark Sister."

(Iscikella gestures and the scene shifts to the interior of a small, comfortable house somewhere in Elanthia where both Noonee and Chutnee are seated talking.)

Noonee takes a small key from her pale pink skirt.

Noonee hands the small key to Chutnee.

Chutnee takes the small key from Noonee.

Chutnee tilts the small key from side to side letting the light play off of it.

Chutnee asks, "And she explained nothing to ye? Not what the key was for? Or why ye should take it? Or what meant her remark about simplicity? Or... anything?"

You see Chutnee BornOdepression the Sylvankind Bard. ...etc... She is holding a small key in her right hand. She is wearing an indigo shirt, some indigo leggings and a pair of black leather boots.

Noonee shakes her head.

Chutnee asks, "Did ye even think to ASK, sister?"

Noonee shakes her head.

Chutnee sighs in exasperation.

Chutnee asks, "Why are ye so slow about these things? Now I would have "

Noonee says, "Yes, yes, I know. Ye would have found out the WHOLE story. Everything. For of course ye are soooooo much smarter than me."

Chutnee says, "Has nothing to do with being smarter. Has to do with being more willing to seek personal advantage."

Chutnee shrugs.

Noonee exclaims, "Fine! Good! Then ye keep the blasted key and use it to advantage however ye can!"

Noonee stands up.

(Noonee slams out of the room.)

Noonee sits down.

Chutnee say, "I will know yer secret, mysterious key the gods wished found."

Chutnee tilts the small key from side to side letting the light play off of it.

Chutnee touches the small key.

Chutnee taps the small key.

Chutnee rubs the small key.

Chutnee licks the small key.

Noonee stands up.

(Noonee "appears" in the room.)

Noonee laughs.

Iscikella points at Noonee.

Iscikella recites:

"The Goddess Lumnis."

You see Noonee No'one the Human Cleric. ...etc... She is wearing a flowing grey robe.

Noonee says, "I can most definitely assure ye, the secret of the key does not lie in its use as some tasty new foodstuff."

Chutnee shrugs.

Chutnee says, "Must be something important for both ye and Eorgina to seek it."

Noonee frowns.

Noonee asks, "Did I say I seek it?"

Chutnee smiles wryly.

Chutnee asks, "Why else would ye be here?"

Noonee glances at Chutnee.

Noonee says, "Perhaps to save ye from yerself."

Chutnee laughs.

Chutnee asks, "I have no wish to be saved. But I do wish to know the secret of this key.

Noonee cocks her head at Chutnee.

Noonee asks, "Why would ye know? Perhaps is wiser not to know."

Chutnee throws back her head and howls!

Chutnee exclaims, "Wise! I have never been wise. But clever, High Lady of the Liabo, that indeed I can be."

Noonee smirks.

Noonee says, "So ye believe."

(Chutnee raises her finger to Noonee.)

Chutnee says, "So I know. Give me a chance to prove it, if ye dare."

A pained expression crosses Noonee's face.

Noonee asks, "Do ye challenge me, girl?"

Chutnee smirks.

Chutnee says, "Let us say I challenge yer 'wisdom' with my cleverness."

Noonee rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Noonee exclaims, "So be it!"

(Noonee gestures and a large bronze box appears in the room right in front of Chutnee.)

Noonee exclaims, "Behold! The lock where fits the key."

(Noonee "disappears" from the room.)

Noonee sits down

Chutnee moves to a kneeling position.

(Chutnee eagerly fits the key into the lock of the large bronze box. There is a sound like a sigh and box flies open of itself, knocking Chutnee off her feet.)

Chutnee falls down.

Chutnee drops a small key.

(Chutnee scrambles back to her knees to look in the box.)

Chutnee moves to a kneeling position.

Chutnee exclaims, "Empty! An empty box! What means this?

Noonee stands up.

(Noonee walks in the room.)

You see Noonee No'one the Human Cleric. ...etc... She is wearing a pale pink blouse, a pale pink skirt and antique lace slippers.

Noonee glances at Chutnee.

(Noonee glances at the box.)

Noonee asks, "Did ye use it to yer advantage, sister?"

Chutnee screams.

Chutnee rolls around on the ground.

(Chutnee's eyes flutter as she pain grips her mind and she is unable to speak or think clearly.)

Noonee says, "Apparently not."

Noonee picks up a small key.

(Noonee drops the small key in the large bronze box and slams the box firmly shut.)

Iscikella recites:

"And The Light Sister returned to the ruins, box in hand. And she waited two days and two nights in the cold for Eorgina to return. At last the Goddess obliged."

(Iscikella gestures and the scene returns to that of the ruins with Noonee standing there alone.)

Noonee is hugging herself.

Noonee exclaims, "So cold!"

Chutnee stands up.

(Chutnee "appears" in the ruins.)

You see Chutnee BornOdepression the Sylvankind Bard. ...etc... She is wearing a crimson velvet gown, crimson velvet slippers and a silver crown.

Chutnee asks, "Ye wait upon me, girl?"

Chutnee cocks her head at Noonee.

Noonee nods.

(Noonee shows Chutnee the large bronze box.)

Noonee says, "What ye sought."

(Noonee hands the large bronze box to Chutnee.)

(Chutnee accepts the large bronze box from Noonee.)

(Chutnee attempts to open the large bronze box.)

Chutnee says, "'Tis locked. Where lies the key then?"

Noonee smiles softly.

Noonee says, "Within itself. Isn't that always the place where lies the key to self-knowledge?"

Chutnee squints at Noonee.

Chutnee mutters not-so-simple.

Iscikella recites:

"And Eorgina answered nothing but left with the locked box in her hands, the key to it now forever beyond her reach. And The Light Sister returned to The Dark Sister and cared for her in her insanity all the rest of her days."

(Iscikella gestures and a curtain slowly closes.)

Iscikella curtsies.

Noonee curtsies.

Chutnee curtsies.
